Course hours breakdown:

  • Principles & practice of complementary therapies and business practice
    110 guided learning hours, including self-study
  • Anatomy & physiology
    120 guided learning hours, including self-study & assessment
  • Provide body massage
    3 days practical training & 1 day assessment, plus 36 case studies – 68 hours total

This course includes access to our Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology online course and assessment, and our comprehensive Starting your own Business online course.

Additional practical training days can be arranged as necessary.

Assessment: Completion of guided home study and preparation of written assessment prior to the practical training. On the practical training days,  continuous formative assessment, verbal questions and performance of a Swedish Massage treatment with minimal guidance from your tutor, along with final completion of the written assessment. The Anatomy & Physiology course is assessed online and must be completed before the Swedish Massage diploma course can be certified.

Case Studies Required: Yes, 36 hours of case studies are required to be completed within 6 months of your course.

Accrediting Body: This course is fully accredited by Independent Accredited Training Solutions (IATS), The Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and Professional Beauty Direct (PBD) and approved as insurable by Insync, BGi UK, Professional Beauty Direct and Westminster Insurance, however please check with your own insurer to see if they will also cover this qualification.
